Mastery Path and Task Board
Work through a topic module by module with practice and review, and keep study tasks moving on the Task Board.
Mastery Path turns a topic into a structured path: an outline of modules, study sessions with the tutor, practice quizzes, and review. You move on from a module once you have shown you understand it. The Task Board keeps the rest of your study tasks moving, from idea to done.
Both live in the learning workspace: Mastery Path under Personalized Learning, and Task Board in the sidebar.
Mastery Path
Creating a path
A mastery path is built from material you already have:
- From a notebook. Save the explanations, notes, and answers for a topic to a notebook, then create a path from it.
- From a book. Create a path from the chapters of a book you made in Books.
RoxWhy turns the material into an outline of modules. Review the outline, then choose a module to start.
Outline, study, and review
Each path has three modes:
- Outline: see every module in the path and where you are up to.
- Study: work through a module with the tutor, from explanation to practice.
- Review: come back to modules you have finished so they stick.
The mastery gate
A module is not finished just because you got a few questions right. You move past it when you explain the idea in your own words and the tutor records that. Mastery also weighs how much evidence there is, how hard the questions were, and how consistent you have been recently.
Practice quizzes
Each module includes practice. Graded practice questions also go into your Question Bank, so you can come back to them under Practice. See Quizzes and Practice.
Spaced review
Mastery Path uses spaced repetition: topics come back for review over time, so they stick past the test.
Task Board
The Task Board is a simple board for study tasks, with columns for To do, In progress, and Done.
- Add a task with a title and an optional short note.
- Move a task by dragging the card to another column, or use the move buttons on each card if you prefer not to drag (handy on touch devices or with a keyboard).
- Link it to the work. Assign tasks to workspaces or link them to the conversations they came from.
- Archive finished tasks to clear the board, and restore them from the archive if you need them again.
Use the board to get a single view of everything you are currently working on, such as a weak topic from a quiz, a reading to finish, or a draft to check. There is no calendar view or calendar sync.
Credits
Mastery Path study sessions and practice quizzes use credits like any other reply. The Task Board does not use AI, so it does not use credits. See Credits and Top-Ups.
