Using the AI Notebook

The AI Notebook is a powerful learning tool available exclusively to students with a Plus license. It allows you to create and organise various types of AI-generated study materials, including flashcards, quizzes, summaries, and even audio podcasts. This guide will walk you through all the features and capabilities of the AI Notebook.

Note: The AI Notebook is only available with a Plus license. If you have a Standard license, you'll need to ask your parent to upgrade your license to access this feature.

Accessing the AI Notebook

To access the AI Notebook:

1. Log in to your Student Portal 2. Click on AI Notebook in the sidebar menu 3. If this is your first time, you'll see an introduction to the notebook's features

Creating a New Notebook

You can create multiple notebooks to organise your study materials by subject or topic:

1. From the AI Notebook dashboard, click "Create New Notebook" 2. Enter a name for your notebook (e.g., "Biology 101" or "World History") 3. Optionally, add a description 4. Click "Create"

Your new notebook will appear in the list of notebooks on the dashboard.

Adding Content to Your Notebook

Once you've created a notebook, you can add various types of content:

Creating Flashcards

Flashcards are perfect for memorising key concepts, terms, and definitions:

1. Open the notebook where you want to add flashcards 2. Click "Add Content" and select "Flashcards" 3. Enter the topic or subject for your flashcards 4. Optionally, paste text content that the AI should use to generate flashcards 5. Click "Generate Flashcards"

The AI will create a set of flashcards based on your input. You can then:

• Review each flashcard
• Edit the question or answer if needed
• Delete any flashcards that aren't relevant
• Add your own custom flashcards
• Save the set to your notebook

Generating Quizzes

Quizzes help test your knowledge with multiple-choice or short-answer questions:

1. Open your notebook 2. Click "Add Content" and select "Quiz" 3. Enter the topic for your quiz 4. Specify the number of questions you want (typically 5-10) 5. Choose the question format (multiple choice, short answer, or mixed) 6. Optionally, paste text content for the AI to use 7. Click "Generate Quiz"

After the quiz is generated, you can:

• Preview all questions and answers
• Edit questions or answer options
• Remove questions
• Add your own custom questions
• Save the quiz to your notebook

Creating Summaries

Summaries condense complex information into concise, easy-to-understand text:

1. Open your notebook 2. Click "Add Content" and select "Summary" 3. Paste the text you want to summarise(e.g., a textbook chapter or article) 4. Specify the desired length of the summary 5. Click "Generate Summary"

The AI will create a summary that captures the key points of the original text. You can:

• Review the summary
• Edit it as needed
• Save it to your notebook

Generating Audio Podcasts

The AI Notebook can convert text into audio podcasts for auditory learning:

1. Open your notebook 2. Click "Add Content" and select "Podcast" 3. Enter a title for your podcast 4. Paste the text you want to convert to audio, or write a prompt for the AI to generate content 5. Click "Generate Podcast"

Once generated, you can:

• Play the audio directly in the notebook
• Download the audio file for offline listening
• Save the podcast to your notebook

Organising Your Notebook

To keep your study materials organised:

1. Use descriptive names for your notebooks and content items 2. Create separate notebooks for different subjects 3. Use the search function to quickly find specific content 4. Archive old notebooks that you no longer need (but want to keep for reference)
