Account & Profile Management

As a parent user of RoxWhy, you have complete control over your account settings and profile information. This guide will walk you through the various account management features available in the Parent Portal.

Logging In

Parents can log in using the email and password created during signup (or via supported OAuth providers).

1. Navigate to the RoxWhy login page 2. Enter your email address and password 3. Click the Log In button If you forget your password, use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page. RoxWhy will email you a reset link so you can choose a new password securely. Follow the link, enter a new password, and you'll be all set (your account will be unlocked once the password is reset).

Updating Profile Details

In the Parent Portal Settings, you can update your personal information such as your first and last name. 1. Navigate to Account Settings in the sidebar menu 2. Locate the profile information section 3. Edit your name fields as needed 4. Click Save Changes

A success message will confirm that your profile has been updated.

Note: At this time, the primary account email used for login is not editable via the UI.

Resetting Your Password

If at any point you want to change your own password, you can trigger a password reset email from the Account Settings page. 1. Navigate to Account Settings in the sidebar menu 2. Locate the password section 3. Click the option to "Send password reset email" 4. Check your inbox for a reset link 5. Follow the instructions to set a new password

This can be used if you forget your password or just wish to update it for security.

Note: You must be logged in to use this in-app option; if you're logged out and forgot your password, use the Forgot Password link on the login screen as described above.

Account Deletion

Should you ever need to delete your parent account, a Delete Account option is available in Settings. 1. Navigate to Account Settings in the sidebar menu 2. Scroll down to the "Danger Zone" section 3. Click Delete Account 4. Confirm this action by typing the requested confirmation word or your name
Warning: Deleting your account will permanently remove your profile and any student data under it, so use caution. This action is irreversible.

Security Best Practices

To keep your RoxWhy account secure, we recommend the following best practices:

  • Use a strong, unique password for your RoxWhy account
  • Don't share your login credentials with others
  • Log out when using RoxWhy on shared or public devices
  • Regularly check your account for any unauthorised activity
  • Update your password periodically for enhanced security

By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your family's educational data remains private and secure.
