Taking Notes in RoxWhy

The Notes feature in RoxWhy allows you to capture important information, ideas, or summaries while chatting with AI models. This guide explains how to use the Notes feature effectively to enhance your productivity.

Accessing the Notes Panel

The Notes panel is typically accessible from the main chat interface:

1. Look for a Notes tab or icon in the interface (often represented by a notepad or document icon) 2. Click on this icon to open the Notes panel 3. The panel usually appears as a side panel or overlay within the chat interface

Creating a New Note

To create a new note:

1. Open the Notes panel 2. Look for a "New Note" button or plus icon (+) 3. Click this button to create a blank note 4. A new note will appear with a default title (like "Untitled Note" or a timestamp) 5. You can immediately start typing in the note editor

Editing Notes

The note editor typically supports basic text formatting:

1. Click into the note content area to begin typing 2. Type your thoughts, summaries, or important points 3. Use the formatting toolbar (if available) for basic formatting like: - Bold, italic, and underline - Bullet points and numbered lists - Headings and subheadings - Links to websites or resources

Renaming Notes

To give your note a descriptive title:

1. Look for the note title field (usually at the top of the note) 2. Click on the title to make it editable 3. Type a descriptive name (e.g., "Project Ideas from Chat" or "Key Insights") 4. Press Enter or click outside the title field to save

Saving Notes

Notes are typically saved automatically as you type, but some interfaces may have:

1. A Save button to manually save changes 2. An indicator showing when the note was last saved 3. A status indicator showing "Saving..." or "Saved" to confirm your changes are preserved

Organising Notes

Depending on the interface, you may have options to organise your notes:

Capturing Content from Chats

Searching Notes

As your collection of notes grows, search becomes essential:

1. Look for a Search field in the Notes panel 2. Type keywords related to what you're looking for 3. The notes list will filter to show only matching notes 4. Click on any result to open that note

Exporting Notes

To save your notes outside of RoxWhy:

1. Open the note you want to export 2. Look for an Export or Download option in the menu 3. Select your preferred format (typically options include TXT, PDF, or Markdown) 4. Choose a location to save the exported file

Deleting Notes

To remove notes you no longer need:

1. Find the note in your notes list 2. Look for a delete option (often represented by a trash icon or in a menu) 3. Click to delete the note 4. Confirm the deletion if prompted

Note: Some interfaces may move deleted notes to a "Trash" or "Recently Deleted" section where they can be recovered for a period of time.

• Create topic-specific notes: Keep separate notes for different projects or topics
• Use descriptive titles: Clear titles make it easier to find notes later
• Capture key insights: Don't try to save everything – focus on the most valuable information
